Treatment Philosophy
All Parts Welcome
Ember Place Behavioral Health follows the Internal Family Systems (IFS) Model of psychotherapy with a core belief that All Parts Are Welcome.
IFS is a way of conceptualizing our internal self and categorizing our psyche into parts. “A part of me feels this way, but a part of me thinks differently.”
Protective Parts: Most of our behaviors are protective. (Examples: Parts of us that love drinking alcohol are protecting us from feeling empty, lonely, sad, hopeless, etc. Parts of us that are critical and controlling are often protecting us from failing and looking bad to others.) Our protective parts are protecting us from deeper internal wounds that need to be witnessed and healed with compassion, light and connection.
This model is a compassionate way to look at our thoughts, feelings and behaviors and is changing the way we understand human behavior with an approach that makes sense and is a way to heal parts that are stuck doing what they do. IFS helps an individual move from destructive behaviors to a living a more confident, calm and regulated life.
We want more people to understand how their parts are working to protect them and help them find real protection with a system of care that works. Real protection with robust treatment to holistically heal.
Ember Place values advocating for system change to impact the current system of treatment and build solutions that work for individuals.
